† The term “acute aseptic meningitis” is used by some as a synonym for acute Iymphoeytic choriomeningitis; this latter entity, not pertinent to this paper, is a virus meningitis with a clinical course of 10 to 14 days' duration and a lymphocytosis of the cerebrospinal fluid.
