This Month's Anesthesiology Journal CME
Read the article by Flu et al. entitled “Prognostic implications of asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction in patients undergoing vascular surgery” on page 1316 of this issue.
Learning Objective(s)
After completing this activity, the learner should be able to define the risks of left ventricular (LV) systolic dysfunction and isolated LV diastolic dysfunction in preoperative vascular surgery patients, understand the differences in perioperative risk between symptomatic and asymptomatic patients with LV dysfunction, and differentiate between which patients are at increased risk for cardiovascular complications when having open vascular surgery versus endovascular surgery.
