Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, the learner should be able to identify the differences between a practice advisory, standard, and guideline; manage the perioperative evaluation, preparation, and care of a patient with a cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED); and recognize the therapeutic procedures likely to produce electromagnetic interference that can alter CIED function.
