Read the article by Ng et al.  entitled “Perioperative stroke in noncardiac, nonneurosurgical surgery” on page 879 of this issue.

After completing this activity, the learner will be able to understand the pathophysiology of stroke, identify patient risk factors associated with perioperative stroke, and manage medical conditions associated with perioperative stroke to mitigate risk.
