Drs. Wolf and Sidebotham suggest that initial reventilation of the lung with air after extinguishing an airway fire based on the possibility that it may not be physically possible to inspect all potential reignition points, and initial reventilation with oxygen may rekindle fire in some of these points. We find that to be a reasonable suggestion (our initial reventilation was with oxygen) and would do so in the future.
