Fall is working on its
courage. A grand
entrance? Maybe
later; today it tiptoes.
I’d love the chance to feel the breeze.
Our table has been
shaded some hours by
now, but summer still
clings to its surface.
Seems brighter than usual.
Youth is tugging at you
again. The locust’s leaves sway, not
quite managing a rustle. They’re almost
the same size as the nortriptyline—
That tree will be stunning in a month.
same color, too. Soon
the leaves will be
yellow like the cheese crumbs
on the plate, but the pills will stay green.
