As the famous song alludes to, countless millions have left their hearts in San Francisco through the years. As the host city of the ANESTHESIOLOGY™ 2013 annual meeting, the City by the Bay will get a lot of attention, and for good reason: it’s one of the most beautiful and entertaining cities in the world. As we prepare for what we hope to be the best-attended meeting in ASA history, we’d like to warn you about losing your heart to this city, but also draw your attention to what could be described as the “heart” of the annual meeting: the ASA’s Committee on Annual Meeting Oversight, or AMOC.
Like a giant umbrella, AMOC and its hard-working volunteers help to coordinate almost every aspect of the annual meeting. Working closely with the ASA staff, AMOC members begin preparation for each meeting months and even years in advance of a given year....
