The ASA Committee on Practice Management has completed the third annual survey of graduating anesthesiology residents with the goal of collecting data to better identify current trends in the anesthesiology job market. By conducting this survey, it is our goal that anesthesiology residency programs will use the data to best prepare graduates for job market opportunities and that both our academic and private anesthesiology practices will be better-equipped to understand market trends and the types of jobs that trainees are choosing.
In May 2014, an electronic survey was sent to graduating anesthesiology residents nationwide through ASA’s membership department. At the time of the survey, the ASA membership department had 1,511 CA-3 residents listed as members, with 1,396 CA-3 residents having corresponding email addresses.
