More than 100 million Americans – nearly one third of the United States population – live with chronic pain. To help those with the condition and highlight the important role that physician anesthesiologists play in treating pain, ASA executed a variety of communications activities during Pain Awareness Month in September.

ASA conducted a proactive media relations effort sharing information on the importance of seeing a pain medicine specialist.
