We thank Dr. Williams and colleagues for their insightful comments in response to Dr. Harter’s “Walking the Line” Administrative Update in the December 2015 ASA Monitor. Their thoughtful response urges ASA to initiate further discussion on integrating advocacy as a component of residency training in anesthesiology. ASA will begin study on this issue and explore the feasibility of advancing advocacy-specific curricular revisions to the Residency Review Committee for Anesthesiology.
