Last January in New Orleans, 70 residents from 23 states gathered for a one-day introduction to practice management topics. The resident track at the annual PRACTICE MANAGEMENT conference runs parallel to the main conference on the Saturday of the meeting. It includes foundational topics in practice management such as employment contracts, practice types, billing and coding, and transitioning into practice. The program consists of lectures with lively question-and-answer sessions, discussion tables and individual advice on job interviews and curriculum vitae (CV) evaluations. The goal is to continue to prepare residents and fellows to excel at non-clinical and administrative opportunities unique to operating a successful practice.

The Emerging Leaders Scholarship Program provides 10 scholarships every year for residents and fellows who are interested in learning more about practice management to attend the meeting.
