Anesthesia practices are confronted with an ever-altering health care landscape that changes not only how they provide patient care but also how they support their practice operations. Facing these challenges requires not only utilizing traditional methods well, but exploring options that change the way we view the provision of care. Technological advances drive options for both patients and providers, and understanding them will allow practices to view further opportunities for improvements. Anesthesiologists must also aggressively participate in leadership at all levels of their practices, their facilities and their organizations.
