There has been no such thing as business as usual in health care and in the medical specialty of anesthesiology in 2020, but ASA marches on. By the time this article is published, we will be at the end of one ASA governance year and beginning another. It will also mark the beginning of our membership renewal cycle. It has been an incredible year for ASA, our members, and society. I want to recognize all of our members who put their lives on the lines every day fighting this dreaded virus and treating the afflicted. Many declared us “health care heroes,” but most anesthesiologists, always humble, saw the effort as simply doing our jobs and following our calling. Job well done. Thank you all.
