The ASA Medical Student Component (MSC) Governing Council is an elected eight-member committee that directs the programs and activities of medical students at the national level. Governing Council officer positions are an excellent way for students to gain leadership experience and interact with peers and mentors.
Medical students interested in serving in a leadership role are encouraged to apply for a governing council position by September 1, 2020. Positions available include President-Elect (first- and second-year students), Secretary, Member at Large, Senior Advisor (fourth-year students), Alternate Delegate to the AMA Medical Student Section, and Alternate.
