9-10 a.m. Francis S. Collins, MD, PhD, the current director of the National Institutes of Health, the largest supporter of biomedical research in the world, will open the meeting with our keynote address: “Exceptional Opportunities in Biomedical Research.” Previously, Dr. Collins served as director of the National Human Genome Research Institute, where he led the completion of the finished sequence of the human DNA instruction book.
