Supporting our specialty means supporting the anesthesiologists who perform life-saving work on the front lines every day, as well as the residents and medical students who will care for our patients in the future. Fortunately for ASA, championing our members is easier because of the support from corporate partners. Because of these alliances, we have funding for initiatives that help us grow member engagement, advance targeted research, and improve educational resources.
Corporate support boosts the important work being done by the Committee on Professional Diversity, for example. The committee promotes and supports current and future anesthesiologists across the spectrum of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, disability, and religious affiliation, with a focus on issues that affect professional development and career satisfaction. The committee – and our corporate partners – is invested in the personal well-being and contentment of members as caring physicians, productive professionals, and responsible family members.
