The winners of the Excellence in Research and James E. Cottrell, MD, Presidential Scholar Awards were recognized during the Celebration of Research at ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2023 this October in San Francisco, California.
Margaret M. Sedensky, MD, and Philip G. Morgan, MD, were jointly awarded the 2023 Award for Excellence in Research. Dr. Sedensky is currently Emeritus Professor at the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington. Dr. Morgan is Professor at the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington, Principal Investigator at the Seattle Children's Research Institute, and Director of the Program in Mitochondrial Biology at Seattle Children's Research Institute.
