Table 1. Effects of Various Intravenous Anesthetics on the Kinetic Parameters for [3H]Norepinephrine Uptake

IC50values were calculated from the data in figure 1. The maximal velocity (Vmax) and the apparent Michaelis constant (K  m) were calculated by Eadie-Hofstee analysis of the saturation curves in the absence of a drug (control) or in the presence of 100 μm propofol, thiamylal, or diazepam. The results are mean (± SD) of four separate experiments performed in duplicate.
