Time constant ratio: the ratio of the time constant in the presence of 1-methyl-5-phenyl-5-propyl barbituric acid (MPPB) relative to the average of pre- and postcontrol. Baseline: values for the responses immediately before MPPB. Nicotine: the ratio of the time constant of the second response relative to the average of the time constants of the first and third responses, derived from the experiments in which nicotine alone was applied repeatedly.
