Cardiac index (CI) increased during hemodilution. Systemic oxygen delivery (Do^2SYS) decreased with the onset of hemodilution, whereas the systemic oxygen consumption (V̇o^2SYS) decreased after the final hemodilution step. Systemic oxygen extraction ratio (O²ER^SYS) increased significantly. Hyperoxia had no significant effect on these parameters.
