Fig. 2. Isoflurane does not affect hypoxia inducible factor (HIF)-1α messenger RNA (mRNA) levels. Hep3B cells were exposed to indicated stimuli for 6 h (  A ) or maintained under normoxic conditions in the presence of 2% isoflurane for indicated periods of time (  B ), and mRNA of HIF-1α and β-actin were analyzed. We assigned the value of 1 to the normalized HIF-1α mRNA level on control (normoxic untreated cells). The level of HIF-1α in the rest of samples is represented as fold over control. There is no statistically significant difference between controls and samples at any tested conditions. Data are presented as mean ± SD of three different experiments. DFX = desferrioxamine.
