The concentration of methoxyflurane was held at 0.25, 0.50, or 0.75 minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), and the minimum concentration of isoflurane required to completely inhibit growth for 3 days was determined. At least three independent determinations were made for each combination of agents. Each determination yielded indentical results. For all combinations tested, growth of Zzz+yeast was completely inhibited at an additive concentration of 1 MIC. The MIC for methoxyflurane is 0.0137 +/- 0.0003 atm, and the MIC for isoflurane is 0.120 +/- 0.003 atm.
