Mice that received ICAM-1–neutralizing antibodies displayed only mild neurologic deficits. Nearly 80% of cardiopulmonary resuscitated mice treated with blocking ICAM-1 antibodies were able to pass the balance test on a 1-cm beam, whereas only approximately 25% of the control immunoglobulin G (IgG)–treated animals balanced on any bar, indicating a significant improvement of neurologic performance due to ICAM blocking.
