Experimental protocol: animals were randomly assigned to the four study groups: control (s-ketamine), isoflurane, xenon, and sham. After instrumentation on day 0, (first OP) the rats were subjected to 60 minutes of myocardial ischemia and 120 minutes of reperfusion. After a follow-up of 28 days, conductance catheter measurements were performed following additional instrumentation (second OP). The arrows mark the measurement time points (T0–T4).
